The Recycle Santa Fe Art Festival is celebrating its 22nd year Nov 12-14, 2021. The gallery-style art exhibit is an integral part of the weekend celebration. This portion of the show enables those artists who work (or experiment!) in found object media a chance to show these efforts outside of the traditional market venue. Items in this portion may or may not be for sale.
Acceptable media must contain a minimum of 75% recycled materials. Our criteria for recycled is using elements that were originally manufactured and would be thrown away if it were not for your creativity to reformat them in a manner or work of art different from its intended original use. A good criterion is that the materials you use are considered junk, or would have ended up in the landfill if you hadn’t rescued them for art materials.
Suggestions: Old toys, machine parts, used building materials, newspapers, magazines, fabric from old clothing, CDs, etc. For our purposes, materials from nature such as rocks, sticks, leaves, bones, dirt, water, etc. are not considered recycled materials.
Prizes – Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. Prizes may be cash or gifts donated by local businesses. Winners will be announced Friday evening.
How to Enter – There is a limit of 3 pieces per person. A nonrefundable thirty-five dollar jury fee (per person, not per submission) is required for all submissions.

Entrants will be notified of acceptance into the Recycle Santa Fe Juried Art Show by November 1, 2021
Tips – Your entry is judged by the photo and the description of each piece you submit. Do not take for granted that the judges know what materials your piece is made of. A history of where you obtained the elements of your piece is helpful in determining its recycle merits. A good photo is helpful in determining the artistic merit of your entry. Do not submit photos of works in progress.
Sales – All work may be offered for sale and we will list the sale price on the work’s identification card. Volunteers will make sales transactions. A commission fee equal to 25% of the sale price will be retained by the Recycle Santa Fe Arts Festival. Artists will be paid out either at the close of the show or the following week via mail.
Display – Please keep in mind that the display area is not a formal gallery, however, the Festival staff works hard to display work in a professional, appealing manner.
Delivery & Pickup – All work accepted into the show must be delivered to the Santa Fe Community Convention Center (201 W. Marcy Street), on Friday, November 12 between 8:30 AM and 12:00 noon. WORK MUST BE PICKED UP ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 14 BETWEEN 3:00 AND 5:00 PM. If you are unable to deliver or pick up your piece during these times, please contact us to make other arrangements.
The exhibit space will be locked during non-show hours and security will be on-site during show hours, but responsibility for any damage, theft, or loss of work is that of the artist.
